What To Expect during Your Visit

I aim to make appointments as easy to schedule by offering phone, text message and online appointment scheduling. In addition appointments can be made as early as 9 am and as late as 8 pm. In most cases I can schedule your appointment for the same day.

I afford patients the option of scheduling their initial intake and history to be performed via telephone or video chat to allow for us to spend more time on treatment during your initial visit. On your initial visit a full medical history will be performed, review of systems (ROS), medication history, range of motion assessment, orthopedic and neurological assessment. Following the examination I will provide an initial working diagnosis, an explanation of appropriate treatments, the risks and benefits of treatment.

Treatment would be just as you would expect in a traditional office environment, first we would talk about any changes since the previous visit. An assessment would be performed and followed by a chiropractic treatment, muscle work and/or stretching and any exercises or home care activities that would need to be done for the next visit. In some cases Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) or heat/ice will be administered. Follow up visits and possible ongoing care will be discussed and scheduled before I leave.

Myofascial Release Therapy

Myofascial release therapy consists of a gentle stretch and constant pressure over a tight or painful muscle that allows the muscle to “release” from the underlying supportive fascia. Another component of this is trigger point therapy which consists of finding painful knots or bumps in the muscle and applying pressure in order for the muscle to relax. Both therapies allow the muscles to relax, move more freely and decrease pain.
Chiropractic treatment and 30 minutes of myofascial release

Chiropractic treatment and 30 minutes of myofascial release

A combination of Chiropractic adjustment and 30 minutes of myofascial release and trigger point therapy. The ultimate in therapy for those patients who wish to receive a chiropractic adjustment and additionally having 30 minutes of myofascial release to relax those tired and painful muscles
Doctor Assisted Stretching

Doctor Assisted Stretching

A combination of gentle stretching and Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) stretching to increase your flexibility, overall range of motion and decrease muscle pain. PNF stretching is done by isometrically contracting and relaxing a muscle during a stretch, an added benefit for athletes is this can aid in strengthening a muscle during rehabilitation. This is a stand alone service that is separate from a traditional chiropractic treatment.
Massage therapy

Massage therapy

Massage services are utilized to treat muscle pain and muscle stiffness. I have partnered with Marta Kensalo of Massage by Marta to provide massage therapy services at her Moon Township location.

Chiropractic therapy

Chiropractic therapy to help people deal with pain and stiffness in their neck and back. A small force is introduced into painful joints to restore proper motion,alignment and increase range of motion. This treatment in most cases is not painful and there is an immediate decrease in pain.

Rehabilitation & exercise

Over the past 10-15 years medicine has made substantial progress in the understanding and treatment of back pain. Newer research has shown that pairing spinal manipulation with exercise produces prolonged reduction in pain and a better prognosis. Many of the exercises that are prescribed can be done quickly in the comfort of your home with very little specialized equipment.

Kinesiotaping

Is used to support an injury and to promote faster healing. Kinesiotape is designed to be applied and left on the injured site for a couple of days. Kinesiotape helps to increase the circulation and speed healing and reduction of inflammation.

How far will you travel?

Because being a mobile chiropractor can be unpredictable I attempt to stay with in a 10-15 mile radius of Coraopolis Pa. Because I take more time with my patients and I have other expenses that a typical office might not have I do charge a travel fee if patients elect to use their medical insurance. Part of the reason I do this is to offset rising fuel prices and the unexpected car repair but also when any healthcare professional accepts an insurance plan we agree to accept the rate that the insurance plan will pay. Sometimes that can mean a 50-75% reduction in our fee and for me a greater loss of profit. To make up this difference a travel fee is a small price to pay for the convience of a chiropractor coming to you.
